Terms of Use

Effective October 28, 2026

1. Using DrivePilot

By using DrivePilot or purchasing an alert service, you agree to these Terms. You must use the site lawfully and be legally able to enter into this agreement, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. What the service does

DrivePilot monitors selected Ontario road-test centres and emails you when an opening appears to match the test type, centres and dates you selected. DrivePilot only provides alerts. We do not book, hold, reschedule or cancel road-test appointments for you.

Monitoring is not real-time. Availability can change at any moment, and an opening may be gone before you visit the official booking website. We do not guarantee that an alert will be sent, that information will always be complete or current, or that you will obtain an appointment.

3. Independent service

DrivePilot is an independent alert service. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or operated by DriveTest, Serco Canada Inc., the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, or the Government of Ontario. Appointments must be confirmed and booked through the official DriveTest service.

4. Prices, payment and refunds

  • The total price is shown in Canadian dollars before you continue to Stripe.
  • For a paid alert order, Stripe saves the payment method without charging it at signup. The one-time fee is charged only after the first matching alert email is successfully sent. This is not a recurring subscription.
  • The fee is for DrivePilot alerts only and does not include any DriveTest road-test fee.
  • Prices may differ between driving-school pages and may depend on how many centres you select.

You may request a refund within 7 calendar days after purchase if DrivePilot has not sent a matching road-test availability alert for that purchase. Once DrivePilot sends the first matching alert, the alert service has started and the fee is non-refundable. Duplicate or incorrect charges, and a paid service that cannot be activated because of a DrivePilot error, will be refunded. See our Refund Policy for the complete rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation or other consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

5. Driving-school pages

A driving-school page may display information, branding and pricing supplied by that school. For a paid purchase made through a Stripe-connected school page, the named driving school is the payment recipient and merchant for that purchase, while DrivePilot operates the alert platform. Purchases made on the DrivePilot home page are collected by DRIVESQUIRREL. The order review and payment confirmation identify the applicable payment recipient.

Schools must have the right to use every name, logo, photo and description they upload. They grant DrivePilot permission to display that material for the purpose of operating their page. DrivePilot may remove misleading, unlawful or infringing content and may suspend a page when necessary.

Account plans may limit how many completed student subscriptions a page can accept in each Toronto calendar month. The applicable limit is displayed during account registration. Once a limit is reached, the page may stop accepting new subscriptions until the next month; existing student subscriptions continue under their normal alert rules.

Independent Instructor accounts may choose a monthly plan or an available pay-per-use plan. Under pay per use, each student alert request is limited to one test centre and the fee for that request is charged only once, after its first matching alert email is successfully sent. Later alerts for the same request do not create another usage charge. Driving School pay-per-use arrangements are available only by written commercial agreement with DrivePilot.

A pay-per-use instructor authorizes DrivePilot to save a payment method with Stripe and charge it off session for qualifying student requests. DrivePilot stores Stripe identifiers, not complete card numbers or security codes. If a usage charge fails, the first student alert remains sent, later alerts for that request are paused, and the instructor may update the payment method and retry from Billing. A successful retry resumes future alerts but does not recreate expired historical openings.

Student payments collected through a public school page remain separate from account-plan or pay-per-use fees owed by the school or instructor to DrivePilot. A free student order or promotion does not waive an applicable instructor usage fee. A switch from monthly billing to pay per use takes effect only after the current monthly billing period ends; switching from pay per use to monthly billing begins through Stripe Checkout under the trial eligibility shown in Billing.

A school may issue a limited, single-use promotion code that makes one alert subscription free. Codes expire after the period displayed by DrivePilot and have no cash value. When a new school or instructor registers through a valid school referral link and verifies its email, DrivePilot adds five request credits to both accounts. Referral credits do not expire, have no cash value and cannot be transferred. Each completed student alert request uses one credit. A credited pay-per-use request has no DrivePilot usage charge; a credited monthly-plan request does not count toward that month’s request limit. There is no numerical limit on verified accounts that may be referred. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, fraudulent registrations and other abuse do not qualify, and related credits may be reversed.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • interfere with the site, bypass security controls or attempt unauthorized access;
  • use another person’s email address or payment method without permission;
  • impersonate a driving school, DriveTest, a government body or another person;
  • publish hateful, discriminatory, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit or illegal content;
  • advertise fraudulent services, false credentials, guaranteed test results, bribery or licence sales;
  • upload content you do not have the right to use; or
  • attempt to identify, contact or misuse a subscriber whose email is shown in masked form.

DrivePilot may apply automated local rules to public page submissions, retain a hash and category for rejected content, review reports, remove content, or suspend an account. Automated checks can make mistakes; contact us if you believe content was incorrectly rejected.

7. Advertising and sponsored content

DrivePilot reserves the right to introduce, place, change or remove advertising, sponsored content, featured listings and other promotional placements on the website and on public driving-school or instructor pages. Paid or sponsored placements will be identified when required by applicable law. Advertising may be supplied by DrivePilot or by third parties.

Unless DrivePilot agrees otherwise in writing, a driving-school or instructor account does not receive advertising revenue, does not control which advertisements appear, and has no exclusive right to the surrounding page space. DrivePilot will not use personal information for a new advertising purpose without providing the notice, choice or consent required by applicable law.

8. Availability and account suspension

We may maintain, change or temporarily suspend the service, including when DriveTest or another provider changes or interrupts its systems. We may suspend access for fraud, security threats, unlawful activity or a material breach of these Terms.

9. Liability and legal rights

To the extent permitted by law, DrivePilot is not responsible for missed appointments, changes in third-party availability, email delivery delays, or losses caused by relying on an alert as a guarantee of an available appointment. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms when the service changes. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
